Rounding reported values in a certificate dataset
Rounding should change presentation without silently changing the underlying recorded measurement. Keep source precision in the stored result and apply a documented display rule.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
When calculating a summary, avoid repeatedly rounding intermediate values. The output should state its precision without implying greater certainty than the source supports. A correction to transcription is a different action from a change in display format.
Reading checklist
- Preserve the source value
- Round at the declared presentation step
- Distinguish corrections from formatting changes
