Recording where a chemical identity field came from
Identity-data provenance records where each field came from and when it was checked. A single bibliography at the bottom of a page may be insufficient when different fields rely on different records.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Attach source links to the formula, sequence, identifier and modification fields as needed. Mark inferred or unresolved values explicitly. This allows a future correction to update the affected claim without implying that every field was independently verified.
Reading checklist
- Link sources at field level
- Mark inference and uncertainty
- Record the verification date
Reference: Analytical reference materials.
