What to do when chemical identifiers disagree

Conflicting identifiers should trigger a source check before publication. Similar names can refer to different forms, and copied records can preserve an earlier transcription error.

For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Record each conflicting value and its source. Then compare structure, terminal groups, salt form and other defining details. Until the discrepancy is resolved, omit the disputed identifier from a definitive comparison rather than select a value by popularity.
