Keeping saved references useful when a catalog changes
Catalog names and page layouts can change while a saved research record still needs to identify the material originally documented. A source URL alone may not preserve that context.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Keep the title, access date and document identifier alongside the link. When updating a reference, note whether only the location changed or whether the underlying content changed too. Do not silently associate an old analytical result with a newly named item.
Reading checklist
- Save descriptive metadata with URLs
- Distinguish relocation from content revision
- Preserve historical associations
Reference: CAS identifiers for research compounds.
Sources and further reading
External references explain terminology and methods. They do not certify Eon products or establish suitability for human or veterinary use.
