How coelution limits a purity interpretation
Coelution occurs when components are not separated into independently interpretable signals under the method. It can limit what a headline purity figure establishes about the material.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
A certificate may not provide enough chromatographic detail to assess every possible coeluting component. Read the available method and suitability information. Avoid expanding a reported result into a claim that all possible impurities were independently resolved.
Reading checklist
- Inspect available chromatographic evidence
- Look for method-suitability information
- Keep the conclusion within the test scope
